How I work
I use Claude Code as a primary development environment for feature implementation, refactoring, test generation, and repository-wide analysis. I write product requirement documents (PRDs) and structured technical specifications that serve as the source of truth for both human and AI-assisted implementation, reducing rework and keeping architectural intent explicit. I apply prompt engineering and context-management techniques — scoped instructions, repository conventions files, and iterative refinement — to get reliable output from large language models on real codebases, and run AI-supported code review alongside human review to catch defects, security issues, and convention drift earlier in the cycle.
Earlier in my career I taught as an adjunct instructor at Lewis-Clark State College and engineered web application interfaces for embedded product lines at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories.
